MADRID ANNUAL FESTIVAL GASTRONOMY

Madridfusión held in Madrid on 2nd to 4th february. This event was established in 2002. It was created with the aim of bringing the latest culinary trends to both chefs and professionals from the world of international gastronomy alike as well as creating a learning forum to promote knowledge and exchange at all levels.

And this is how madridfusión came into being, attracting more and more international recognition every year by spreading Spanish gastronomy internationally while at the same time encouraging cultural exchange among different cultures.

Having recently celebrated its 13rd edition, madridfusión has established itself as the leading international gastronomy gathering.

Objectives, to display avant-garde cuisine, to promote the getting together of world cuisines, to encourage debate and reflection on gastronomy and the many fields connected with it (oenology, the food industry, technical innovation, scientific investigation and new business models) with live culinary demonstrations from leading chefs on the international stage, memorable presentations of the most revolutionary techniques, debates…

Three days of experiences and learning through four types of cuisine: sweet, savoury, liquid and frozen.
Two summits in one: Avant-garde at Madrid Fusión and tradition at Tasting Spain.

Over 100 chefs from 12 countries, 75 demos, 18 training workshops, 7 competitions, auctions and awards.

This year the guest country is China, at the source of the world’s culinary culture.

The guest city is Helsinki as new European culinary destination.

Joël Robuchon, the chef with the most Michelin stars (27) in the world.
Da Dong, undisputed master of Chinese cuisine, head of a hospitality empire.
Andoni L. Aduriz, whose culinary philosophy has spread throughout the world thanks to the dozens of disciples trained at Mugaritz.
Jari Vesivalo, Helsinki, new leader of Scandinavian cuisine.
Mitsuharo Tsumura, Nikkei cuisine’s most important ambassador.
Diego Hernández and Elsa Judith Olmos, representatives of the unstoppable Baja Med movement in Baja California.
Leonor Espinosa, chef who has revamped Colombian culinary fusion.
Yoshihiro Narisawa, interpreter of time and nature in Japan.

And in addition to these demonstrations, there have been master workshops, both tastings and culinary seminars, contests, tastings, tributes, auctions as well as an exhibitors zone.

During the celebration of madridfusión, Madrid becomes the world capital of gastronomy.

For the fourth consecutive year, the gastrofestival madridfusión takes its tastiest side to the streets. For two weeks citizens and visitors alike have had the chance to take part in some of its seemingly endless proposals. 
A sensual party in which everyone had the chance to enjoy gastronomy through haute cuisine, art, movies, theatre and fashion. More than 300 establishments and institutions made up a complete program comprised of six main categories:
