Almodovar Tour5

We are sure that when you are visiting Madrid to play Golf,  many of you are fans of Spanish Filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar. If you have the opportunity to organize this city tour in your golf trip to Madrid, we recommend to make the Pedro Almodóvar tour in the capital of Spain. We imagine that you don´t know that many scenes of his films have been filmed in Madrid.

If you can talk about the New York of Woody Allen and Fellini’s Rome, you can do the same thing with Almodovar in Madrid. Madrid appears in eleven films of Almodóvar, so nothing better than discover the capital of Spain’s cinema.

We can initiate for example in Villa Rosa, a bar located in the Plaza de Santa Ana, and part of many of the scenes in “Tacones Lejanos”. Today Villa Rosa is an ideal place for tapas and listen to flamenco in Madrid.

From Villa Rosa we can go to the Círculo de Bellas Artes Cafe. Located on the ground floor, it has beautiful views onto the Alcalá Street. Here in 1993 Almodóvar filmed several scenes from his film Kika, particularly one involving Victoria Abril and Pedro Coyote.

In Arenal Street Pedro Almodovar shot the end of his film “Carne Témula”. One of the scenes focused on the Museum of ham, a chain specializing in ham in Madrid. Another good place to eat in Madrid.

There are other Madrid locations used in the films of Almodovar, as Puerta de Alcalá in “Carne Témula”, or Plaza Mayor, place in which the actor Juan Echanove danced one of the best scenes of La Flor de Mi Secreto. Sit on one of the terraces of Plaza Mayor to enjoy the typical squid sandwich with a beer.

As you can see, Madrid offers you the opportunity to get closer to the figure of Pedro Almodóvar. Eleven of his films were recorded in the capital of Spain. One more excuse for playing golf in Madrid and getting lost in this paradise that every good tourist should know.
